Seoul mayor says he will ”do his best to ensure that citizens' daily lives are not disrupted” in response to ”emergency martial law”
On the 4th, Seoul Mayor Oh Sehun emphasized the stability of the administrative system and the citizens' daily lives through his SNS.
"All city administrative services are operating normally," Mayor Oh said, "There are no disruptions to the daily lives of citizens in Seoul, including traffic, public safety, firefighting, and public medical care."
"We will do our utmost to prevent any chaotic situations from occurring," he said, adding, "In the unlikely event that any disorderly situations do arise, we will work closely with the police to ensure safety."
Prior to this, Mayor Oh had announced that President Yoon Seok-yeol would declare emergency martial law on the night of the 3rd.
"I am against martial law. Martial law should be revoked," he said. His business trip to India and Malaysia, scheduled to run from today until the 11th, was canceled due to the declaration of martial law.
