The Academy Creative Awards (AACA) was held in Singapore on the 4th of this month, and tvNTV series "Queen of Tears" won the trophy for Best Directing.
The AACA is Asia's largest content awards ceremony, held every December. It judges works from 17 countries and announces award-winning works in categories such as acting, TV series, variety shows, and documentaries.
"Queen of Tears" was previously nominated in two categories at the 2024 AACA. In addition to the Best Director award, it was also nominated for the Main Prize, increasing its chances of winning.
The Queen of Tears also appeared at the 29th Asian Television Music Awards held in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 30th of last month.
Studio Dragon commented, "This was an important opportunity that reaffirmed the competitiveness of KTV series," and added, "We will continue to steadily present well-made works in the future."
"Queen of Tears" is a story about a third-generation chaebol family and a village chief's son falling in love. The final episode recorded a viewership rating of 24.9%, the highest in tvN history.
