President-elect Donald Trump spoke with David Cole, co-host of the "All In" podcast and venture capitalist.
On the 5th (local time), he appointed David Sacks as his chief advisor on artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrency.
In a post on Truth Social, he said, "David O. Sachs has been appointed White House Director of Artificial Intelligence and Cryptocurrency.
Sachs also said he would be the next Czar of the President's Council of Advisors for Science and Technology.
"In this important role, David will lead the Administration's policy direction in the areas of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency," Trump said.
"Part of Sachs' role will include leading the way in developing a legal framework for cryptocurrencies, two areas that are critical to the competitive future of the United States," he said.
Trump said the plan would include work to protect online speech and shift away from Big Tech bias and censorship, a task that is harder to articulate.
