South Korean prosecutors launch simultaneous investigation into former President Moon's daughter Da-hye for ”drunk driving” and ”illegal lodging”
The Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office in South Korea has announced its intention to investigate former President Moon Jae-in's daughter, Da-hye (41), on suspicion of "illegal lodging business" in addition to drunk driving.
On the 9th, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office announced that the case of Da Hye, who is suspected of violating the Public Health Management Act and is operating an illegal lodging business, was transferred to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office on the 5th.
The investigation was assigned to the Second Criminal Division. Da Hye is suspected of illegally operating a lodging business at an officetel she owns in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and a villa she purchased in the same district in 2021.
A prosecutor said on the same day that they had accepted the case, and said, "It would be more efficient to summon the suspects at once and question them about multiple cases at the same time."
Meanwhile, Da Hye is also under investigation by the Jeju District Prosecutors' Office for allegedly operating an unregistered lodging business at a villa in Hanlim-eup, Jeju City, for the past two years.
Regarding the drunk driving incident, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul sent Da Hye to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office on the 19th of last month on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving).
