Taser gun lost by police officer recovered 18 hours later... found by elderly waste paper collector (South Korea)
The taser gun that was lost during a police dispatch was recovered about 18 hours later. On the 13th, the Suwon Nambu Police Station reported that a taser gun was found near the Osan Bridge in Osan City at around 11:55 pm yesterday.
The police said they had retrieved the Taser gun that had been lost from a man in his 60s, Mr. A. At around 5:30 a.m. yesterday, police officer B of the Goksung Police Station was returning to the police station after responding to a call when he lost his Taser gun.
This was about 18 hours after the disappearance. At the time, Officer B had responded to a report that an elderly person was sleeping at a bus stop in Gwonseong-gu, Suwon City, and after taking protective measures, he returned to the police station.
When A got into the police car, he dropped the Taser gun along with the holster. Based on CCTV footage from the control center, the police determined that A, who was given protective measures by police officer B, had been taken to the police station.
The officer confirmed that the suspect picked up the taser and put it in his bag, then tracked his movements and retrieved the taser. The taser was a new model, the "Taser 7," which can fire two shots in a row.
It was retrieved in the same condition as it was when it was taken. The police are considering whether to charge Officer B with embezzlement of property that has been taken from him.
