The time for the plenary session tomorrow (14th) was only 5 p.m. as requested by the National Assembly, but National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik never decided on the time," he said. "The authority to decide the agenda lies with the Speaker of the National Assembly.
He continued, "The reason we decided on 4 p.m. for the plenary session was because the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol was reported at the plenary session this afternoon. The vote will be held in 24 hours."
"In addition, because this is a matter of national importance and a serious matter, we have taken into consideration sufficient discussion and deliberation time, including at general meetings of each party's lawmakers, and delays.
"After considering various factors, we have confirmed that the plenary session will be held at 4 p.m." Meanwhile, the opposition party proposed a second impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 12th of this month.
The vote will be put to another vote at 4 p.m. on the 4th. The first impeachment motion included allegations of stock price manipulation by Kim Gun-Hee, the wife of President Moon Jae-in, and other irregularities and suspicions aimed at the administration, but this time the focus is only on illegal martial law.
This is seen as a reflection of the Constitutional Court's intention to shorten the impeachment trial process.
