The "Emergency Action for Yoon Seok-youl's Resignation" held a "Citizen Candlelight Ceremony for the Resignation of Yoon Seok-youl, the Criminal of Rebellion" in front of the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul at 3 p.m. on the 14th.
The protesters demanded that the National Assembly pass an impeachment bill against President Yoon. The organizers' estimated number of participants has not yet been tallied, but they claim that it is "far more than the 1 million people who attended last week."
Just like last week, citizens filled the National Assembly Boulevard, the National Assembly Building Boulevard, and even Yeouido Boulevard. In addition, they crossed Yeouido Park and walked around Yeouido Station to greet President Yoon.
Due to congestion on Line 9 of the Seoul Municipal Subway, the decision was made to stop trains from stopping at National Assembly Station (Line 9) and Yeouido Station (Line 9).
Although the rally was in chaos, it was managed relatively smoothly thanks to the police and order-maintenance personnel.
There were also scenes demanding that the crowds move to the Yeouido Park side because the areas on the National Assembly and National Assembly Boulevards are full.
Holding up placards such as "Yoon Seok-youl, traitor," they pressured the National Assembly, demanding "Impeach traitor Yoon Seok-youl immediately," and "People's Power must join in the impeachment of Yoon Seok-youl."
Speaking on behalf of the emergency action group, Park Seok-woon, standing representative of the Korean Progressive Solidarity, said, "The likelihood of the impeachment motion passing has increased," and "President Yoon should be impeached immediately."
"The Yoon administration betrayed the will of the people and walked the wrong path, eventually leading them to commit crimes of insurrection," Park said. "That night, after hearing the news, I rushed out in front of the National Assembly.
"The citizens delayed the military police riots while the lawmakers across the country lifted martial law. Yoon Seok-youl's faction has committed the crime of insurrection," he said.
