Police make emergency arrest of intelligence commander on charges of ”treason” in South Korea

On the 15th, the National Police Agency's Emergency Law Special Investigation Team announced that it had made emergency arrests of Intelligence Commander Mun Sang-ho and former Intelligence Commander Noh Sang-won on suspicion of insurrection and other offenses.
Prior to this, the opposition Democratic Party of Korea indicted Commander Moon on suspicion of treason on the 13th of this month.
On the 14th of this month, the Democratic Party of Korea also drafted a martial law declaration against former Commander Noh, accusing him of plotting a civil war.
The special investigation team has so far investigated 43 active-duty military personnel, including former martial law commander Park An-soo and former intelligence commander Moon.
The special investigation team also said that as of that day, it had confirmed that more than 1,500 military personnel had been mobilized under emergency martial law. This number includes ordinary private soldiers.
