Joo Ji-hoon and Jung Yoo-mi from the tvN drama ‘Love on a Single Bridge’ also saw an increase in viewer ratings amidst the news of a full-fledged romance.

According to Nielsen Korea, a Korean ratings aggregator, the ratings for episode 7 of tvN's ‘Love on a Single Bridge’, which aired on the 14th January, averaged 5.1% and 6.4% for metropolitan area households and 5.1% and 6.0% for national households, ranking first in both the cable and general programming time slots.

Episode 7 depicted the ‘love awakening’ of Seok Ji-won (Joo Ji-hoon) and Yoon Ji-won (Jung Yoo-mi). Seok Ji-won won the lilac love bet and whispered into Yoon Ji-won's astonished ear, "From today onwards, it's day one for us" as they declared themselves a couple. He also visited the teaching office out of the blue and asked for a date in front of the teaching staff, confusing Yoon Ji-won.

Seok Ji-won demanded romance, saying, "Whether we talk or not, a bet is a bet", and Yoon Ji-won replied, "Chancellor, you're not 18 years old. Are you?" He kicked off his first love like a childhood greenhorn with the words "I'm not 18. Seok Ji-won said, ‘Did you know that lilac flowers bloom for two weeks at the most? Let's break up when the flowers fall", he offered a compromise, which Yoon Ji-won accepted, and the two Ji-wons’ second secret relationship began.

However, their secret romance did not last long. After leaving work, their hug in the elevator was discovered by a colleague. Seok Ji-won explained to Yoon Ji-won, who was in trouble, that the date and the hug were all her unilateral actions, and she accepted the villain role.

Seeing this, Yoon Ji-won said that 18 years ago, she suffered all the negligence on her behalf, but said, "I don't mind. No matter who looks at me. It concerns only you. I just want you to take care of me", and expressed his sad feelings towards the single-minded Seok Ji-won.

The more Yoon Ji-won awakened her feelings for Seok Ji-won, the more obstacles there were between them. When Seok Kyung-tae (Lee Byung-joon) found out about their betting romance, he came to the company housing and punched Seok Ji-won on the cheek, and even Yoon Jae-ho (Kim Gap-soo) found out about this and was in danger of being evicted from the company housing.

At the end of the drama, Seok Ji-won and Yoon Ji-won revealed their true feelings that they could not tell each other. Yoon Ji-won received a message in his spam folder saying, "Yoon Ji-won, it's me. Call me here", “Ji Won, it's going to rain”, etc. She found Seok Ji Won's mobile text messages filled with nostalgia. A letter with Yoon Ji-won's love and hate, which Ji-won found under the sofa, read "To Seok Ji-won. I curse you. No matter how many curses I put on you, I can't get rid of a single bit of anger. In truth, I just miss you. That's why I want you to come to me even if you have all the bad luck and misfortune in the world someday."

After facing their old true feelings, they met again in front of a lilac tree whose petals had fallen. Seok Ji-won tried to stop the bet and said, "Let's really fall in love with me. Yoon Ji-won", he confessed. Yoon Ji-won also looked at Seok Ji-won with hot tears and increased her expectations for the next episode.
