At present, solar power generation in China accounts for 24.8% of the total installed capacity, making it the second largest source of electricity in China, surpassing wind power and hydroelectric power.
As of the end of October, China's installed solar power capacity reached 793 million kilowatts, up 48.0 percent from the same period last year, according to the latest data from the China Electricity Council.
Looking at the distribution of solar power generation development, it is mainly concentrated in the eastern, central and western regions, with the eastern and western regions together accounting for nearly three-quarters of the total.
A representative of the China Electricity Confederation said, "The capacity of newly operational solar power generation facilities in 2024 will be about 250 million kilowatts, and the capacity of solar power generation facilities will be about 100 million kilowatts.
The total capacity of solar power generation equipment is expected to exceed 850 million kilowatts, accounting for more than a quarter of China's total installed capacity.
