The Korean Nuclear Power Plant will be responsible for the construction of the main and auxiliary equipment, as well as the construction of infrastructure such as a radioactive waste storage facility.
KEPCO KPS, Doosan Energy, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Samsung C&T and others will participate in the construction as KHNP's partner companies.
"This contract marks the first time that a Korean nuclear power company has participated in a project to continue operating a nuclear power plant overseas," KHNP said.
"Through this, nuclear power plant export methods will be diversified into the export of heavy water reactor-type equipment and construction and continued operation projects," he emphasized.
