Singer Kim Jaejoong's mother recalled her first encounter with Jaejoong and revealed the circumstances of his adoption.

On the morning of the 24th, KBS 1TV current affairs programme ‘Morning Square’ featured ‘A special name for me, my mother’, where Jaejoong and his mother, Yoo Man-soon, appeared together to share various stories.

On this day, the MC asked if Kim Jaejoong was the child that his mother gave birth to with heartache. This was because he was curious about the moment he first met his son. Earlier, Jaejoong appeared on the KBS 2TV variety programme ‘New Product Launch - Convenience Store Restaurant (hereafter, Convenience Store Restaurant)’ and revealed the fact that he was adopted at the age of three into a home with only his daughter.

Jaejoong's mother said that she first met her son on the recommendation of an acquaintance. He candidly confessed that he "said that he wanted his sister to raise him because he was a child with circumstances" and that "at the time I replied, 'I don't have the confidence to raise him because there are too many children”’. The words that came back were the answer that "someone like your sister can raise them well."

She continued, "But when I saw the children, their eyes were so sparkling and cute" and recalled, "So I held them in my arms, thinking, ’How could I have done this to such a child? It was at this moment that the sight of the child in her arms calling out ‘Mama, mama’" and her words hit home.

His mother confided, "So I thought, 'Oh, I have to raise you as my son from now on’", and that "the first moment I hugged him, he said mama... he was hugging my neck tightly. But he decided, ‘I can't raise you well as my son from now on, but I'll still try to live with you while living with me’."

Jaejoong's mother already had eight daughters only. His mother confessed the situation, saying, "I raised them with just one more serving of rice with just one more chopstick and spoon added because there were so many children", and that "children grow up among children, so even if I couldn't raise them well, I tried to raise them once in our house and accepted them, although I couldn't afford it."

His mother said, "When I accepted the children, they grew up very well and are filial sons" and "There will never be such filial sons in the world. I'm grateful", she said sincerely, and tears came to her eyes. In response, Jaejoong expressed his sadness, saying, "I'm grateful", "Whatever the reason, I think it's all about the fact that you raised me healthy."

Jaejoong appeared in ‘Convenience Store Restaurant’ with his eight sisters and parents. At the time, the 6-billion-won mansion he prepared for his parents was shown to the public, a house he had thought about from 1 to 100 and participated in designing and building.
