The scene depicts Chang Yi's determination to become the first man to do so. Lin Haoqing was planning to cut off Chang Yi's tail in order to obtain the Shark Pearl. However, Chang Yi stubbornly refused.
Because he knew that once he lost his tail, he would never be able to return to the sea. Lin Haoqing had no choice but to use Ji Yunhe as a decoy to try to get Chang Yi to submit to him.
After suffering through the pain, Chang Yi decided to cut off his own tail to protect Ji Yunhe. After Lin Haoqing successfully obtained the shark pearl, he prepared an antidote for Ji Yunhe.
After taking the antidote, Ji Yunhe's health gradually improved. When Ji Yunhe found out that Chang Yi had cut off his tail for her, she was filled with guilt and gratitude. Ji Yunhe hugged Chang Yi and cried.
