On the morning of this day, an accident occurred at Mueang International Airport when an aircraft departing from Bangkok, Thailand, left the runway while landing and burned to the ground.The passenger aircraft was Jeju Airways Flight 7C2216, which had departed from Bangkok and was scheduled to arrive at Muan International Airport at 8:30 a.m. that day.

According to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency, of the 181 passengers (6 crew members) on board, 120 people have been confirmed dead (as of 2:50 p.m.) and 2 people have been rescued.
