At around 9:07 a.m. the previous day, Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed into the Muan International Airport.
While attempting to land on the runway, the plane crashed. The plane collided with the outer wall of the runway, partially destroying it and causing a fire. There were 181 people on board, including 157 passengers and 6 crew members.
The Jeollanam-do Fire Department announced in a briefing that all aboard had died except for the two rescuers.
