Yangtze River Delta's total imports and exports hit record high: Chinese report

This year, the trade scale of the Yangtze River Delta region has been expanding steadily. The strengthening of the international competitiveness of high-end manufacturing industries and the diversification of trade markets will contribute to the cooperative development of the Yangtze River Delta economy.
According to customs statistics, total imports and exports in the Yangtze River Delta region in the first 11 months of the year rose 5% year-on-year to 14.56 trillion former (about 315 trillion yen), a record high.
It accounts for 36.6% of the total national imports and exports. Advanced equipment manufacturing is a leading industry in the Yangtze River Delta region. During the same period, the export value of advanced equipment, including shipbuilding, increased by 53% year-on-year.
The total amounted to 228.45 billion yen, up 3.3%, accounting for 56.2% of the total amount of advanced equipment products nationwide, up 6.3 percentage points from the same period last year.
The trade market in the Yangtze River Delta has expanded due to the diversification of trade partners.
As trade demand in emerging markets has increased, the scale of imports and exports of integrated circuits, new energy vehicles, and automatic data processing equipment produced in the Yangtze River Delta region has continued to expand.
In the January-November period, exports from the Yangtze River Delta region to ASEAN increased 7.4%, accounting for 33.4% of the total, while exports to Latin America increased 6.9%, accounting for 37.6% of the total, and exports to Africa increased 9.4%, accounting for 33.4% of the total.
This accounted for 36.1% of the total.
