”Jeju Air crash” ... ”2000-page manual” torn up by captain discovered = South Korea
A portion of a Boeing 737 flight manual, presumably scattered from the aircraft by the impact of the accident, was discovered at the scene of the Jeju plane crash at Muan Airport.
According to MBN on the 3rd, three or four pages of the Boeing 737 flight manual, filled with numerical data, were found near the aircraft where the accident occurred.
This manual, also known as the QRH, is a thick manual that is up to 2,000 pages long. One copy will be placed at each seat of the captain and co-pilot.
The discovered page states that the Boeing 737-800 can fly with the landing gear lowered and at minimum power.
The distance was written on the page. Some instructions for emergency landing on water were also found. There were also traces of pages that appeared to have been intentionally torn off. Experts have said that the two engines had been torn off before the accident.
Professor Ko Soo of the Department of Aviation Navigation at Silla University said, "It is unclear how far the captain was from the co-pilot.
"He took out the manual to see how far it could go and how much it could handle," he speculated. Professor Kim Gwang-il of the Silla University Department of Aviation Navigation also said, "I opened it all up and looked at it.
"It appears that they were unable to do so and so they quickly tore off only the necessary parts, and made calculations and judgments based only on those parts," the government said. The government has begun a full-scale investigation into the cause of the Jeju Air crash.
The audio recordings from the last two hours just before the accident have been secured and converted into audio files that can be analyzed. However, until the results of the analysis of the flight recorder (FDR) data are available,
But that is likely to take several months or even years.
