South Korea's ruling party: ”The Democratic Party should apologize for the 'fraudulent impeachment' and re-vote on the impeachment bill”

On the 5th, Kwon Yeong-se, chairman of the emergency response committee of the ruling People Power Party, said that the National Assembly's impeachment panel had decided on the reasons for the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol.
Regarding the withdrawal of the "treason charge," he said, "The Democratic Party of Korea (MD) will apologize to the people for this "fraudulent impeachment" and will re-vote on the impeachment bill.
"I hope that the impeachment motion will be passed in a hurry," Kwon said at a meeting of the party's emergency response committee and senior lawmakers that day.
"This is a fraudulent impeachment, and it amounts to an admission that he incited the public with lies."
He continued, "The exclusion of the crime of insurrection from the grounds for impeachment is an essential element of the impeachment bill.
"It means a change," he said, and "it is common sense to have the National Assembly deliberate the matter again." He also said, "The Constitutional Court should immediately suspend the hearing on the impeachment bill, which has excluded the crime of treason, and
"We should demand new charges that follow fair procedures."
