China CPI to rise 0.1% year-on-year in December 2024 - Chinese report

On the 9th, the National Bureau of Statistics of China announced the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for December 2024. According to the announcement, the national CPI for December increased 0.1% compared to the same month last year.
In urban areas, prices increased by 0.1%, while prices in rural areas remained stable. Food prices decreased by 0.5%, non-food prices increased by 0.2%, consumer goods prices decreased by 0.2%, and service prices increased by 0.5%.
The national CPI for 2024 increased 0.2% year-on-year. Among food prices, pork prices increased 12.5% year-on-year, fresh vegetables increased 0.5%, and fruit decreased 3.0%.
Meanwhile, the national CPI for December was flat compared to November. In urban areas, it was flat, while in rural areas, it fell by 0.1%. Food prices decreased by 0.6%, while non-food prices increased by 0.1%.
Consumer goods prices decreased by 0.1%, and service prices increased by 0.1%. Compared to the previous month, pork prices decreased by 2.1%, fresh vegetables by 2.4%, and fruit by 1.0%.
