”NewJeans” ranks 2nd in Japan's Oricon annual ”Newcomer Ranking”... the highest ranking for a foreign artist

The group (Nee, Daniel, Hyeri, and Haein) ranked second in the "Newcomer Ranking" in the artist sales category of the "Oricon Annual Ranking 2024" announced on the same day.
This is the highest ranking in the chart. The "Newcomer Ranking" is determined by the combined sales of singles, albums, streaming, music DVDs, etc.
Oricon explained that the album recorded sales of 2.09 billion yen during the collection period (December 11, 2023 to December 8, 2024).
Prior to this, NewJeans' Japanese debut single "Supernatural" was ranked #1 on Oricon charts on the day of its release.
Following the album's #1 ranking, it was certified a gold disc by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (awarded a gold disc for album sales of 100,000 or more copies).
