Circle, the stablecoin issuer of USD Coin (USDC), has donated $1 million worth of USDC to the inaugural committee of President-elect Donald Trump.
Jeremy Allaire, CEO of Circle, announced on the 9th (local time) through X (formerly Twitter) that he had donated $1 million in USDC to the inauguration committee of President-elect Trump.
"The fact that the donation was sent in USDC shows the potential of the digital dollar," he said. President-elect Trump has set a fundraising goal of $150,000 for his inauguration.
The funds will be used for inauguration events such as the parade and dinner. Prior to this, other virtual asset companies have also donated to the Trump Inaugural Committee.
Ken donated $1 million each, while Refraps delivered $5 million worth of Ripple to the committee.
