Democratic Party of Korea: ”The fortress in Hannam-dong is collapsing...It's only a matter of time before the masterminds of the rebellion are arrested” = South Korea
As former Presidential Security Service chief Park Jong-jun turned himself in to police on charges of obstructing the execution of an arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol, the Democratic Party declared, "The rift within the Security Service has begun."
Kang Yu-jeong, floor spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, said in a written briefing on the 11th, "The fortress in Hannam-dong (Seoul) is crumbling. The arrest of the masterminds of the rebellion is necessary.
It is only a matter of time before the abolition of the security service. Deputy Director Kim Sung-Hoon, who replaced the dismissed Director Park as the right-hand man of the mastermind of the rebellion, should also turn himself in to the police."
"Even if we pledge our loyalty to the masterminds of the rebellion, we will be accused of special obstruction of justice as complicit in the rebellion," said Kang.
The government clearly saw that the North Korean leader was being abandoned. Even if the head of the Security Service was replaced and a show of attacking North Korea was staged, it would not have been of any use in executing the arrest warrant.
"The investigation agency and police should not hesitate to execute arrest warrants strictly and restore the rule of law," he said. Kim, deputy chief of security, has been called to appear three times by the police on the same charges as Park.
However, he did not comply, saying, "As acting chief of the Security Service, I cannot be removed from my duties in protecting the president even for a moment."
