[Official] ”AV Controversy” Park SungHoon's next project with Yoona (SNSD) ”The Tyrant's Chef” ends in failure... Decided to step down

Actor Park Sung-hoon is stepping down from the drama Tyrant Chef.

On the 11th January, his agency BH Entertainment revealed to Herald POP that "Park Sung Hoon is right to step down from The Tyrant's Chef." The production company STUDIO Dragon also said that, "After discussions between the two sides, the decision was made that it would be difficult to work together on the production."

The Tyrant's Chef is a 500-year fantasy survival romance about a French chef who travels back in time and meets the king, the worst tyrant but also the best gourmet. Initially, Girls' Generation member and actress Yoon-ha was cast as the other character alongside Park Sung-hoon.

However, Park Sung-hoon was recently dragged down by the AV upload controversy. Park Sung-hoon recently made the major mistake of uploading a Japanese AV cover photo parodying his ‘Squid Game’ on SNS, which he quickly deleted, but it has already spread online.

Park Sung-hoon's side later explained that he had not consumed the AV, but had simply made an uploading mistake. They also explained that it was "something that happened in the process of trying to tell the company that there was a problem with the DMs someone sent", but many responded that it was "unconvincing."

Park Sung-hoon apologised again and shed tears through a subsequent ‘Squid Game 2’ interview, but in the end he could not avoid the aftermath. Some demanded the cancellation of ‘Tyrant Chef’, claiming that the controversy would interfere with the immersion of the work, and in the end, the encounter between YoonA and Park Sung-hoon ended in failure.
