U.S. government: ”North Korean troops dispatched to Ukraine are a 'capable military force'” and ”a clear 'threat'”

The U.S. government has assessed that the North Korean troops deployed to Ukraine are "well-trained and pose a threat to Ukraine."
In response to a question about the North Korean military's capabilities at a press conference on the 13th (local time), a spokesman for the US Department of Defense said, "We will not comment on specific information.
"But they are relatively well disciplined and a competent force," he said.
"They are primarily an infantry force, and from all angles, they are capable," he said. "We are on the battlefield in Ukraine.
"What we're seeing is that they are a clear threat," he added. "The 12,000 North Korean troops that Russia can put on the battlefield are a significant force, and they are a significant threat to Ukraine."
"It's clear that this will make Ina even more difficult," he said, "but Ukraine continues to fight and is doing everything to protect its defense line."
"Our focus is on ensuring that Ukraine has what it needs on the front lines of defense," he said.
"We will cooperate with the association."
