Tobacco manufacturer KT&G has announced that it has established a subsidiary in Uzbekistan with the aim of expanding into overseas markets and increasing profitability.
Prior to this, in 2023, the company will establish an office in Uzbekistan and begin selling its slim-type cigarette brand "Esse."
In 2024, the total sales volume of the seven Esse brand products in the country is expected to reach 270 million units.
The "Uzbekistan Container Ship" has been well received, accounting for 64% of the total export volume. The company has upgraded its Uzbekistan office to a corporation, aiming to improve its long-term competitiveness in the Eurasian region.
The company will more than double its sales, build a sales network and expand its distribution area. Furthermore, it will develop "Esse" into a representative brand in the Uzbek market, where the sales ratio of slim cigarettes continues to rise.
The company aims to expand sales and profits by establishing internal ventures in regions such as Eurasia, Asia, and the Pacific in 2024, and is working to develop the global market. Currently, the company has 132 countries
The company has six sales companies and three branches in the Uzbekistan area, and plans to continue increasing the number of overseas companies in the future. A KT&G official said, "We plan to establish a Kazakhstan corporation in 2023.
This follows on from the measures established in the past."
