T.O.P leaves BIGBANG, ”Feeling guilty and not contacting the other members. Why did you block your social media accounts?”

T.O.P revealed that he has not been in contact with the members of BIGBANG.

On the morning of the 15th January, a round of interviews with T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun) was held at a café in Chungno (Jongno) District, Seoul, to celebrate the release of season 2 of the Netflix original series ‘Squid Game’.

T.O.P left BIGBANG in June 2023. When asked if he has been in contact with the members since then, T.O.P said, "As I said before, I have to be sorry for the rest of my life. I still have a big sense of guilt and I'm not in a good mood to contact them easily."

In episode 5 of Season 2 of Squid Game, there is a scene where Thanos (T.O.P) dances to the music of ‘Tunggulge Tunggulge’, and there is a reaction that it resembles the ‘Ringa Linga’ dance of ‘BIGBANG’ member SOL.

In response, T.O.P. said, "I saw a lot of stories about dancing too. The dance was not danced thinking of ‘BIGBANG’, it was a cowboy dance, which is a traditional American dance, so I think the dance came naturally to me."

Recently, G-DRAGON, SOL and D-LITE made a big splash when they appeared in their complete bodies on ‘2024 MAMA’ T.O.P. said, "Of course I saw it. I saw them as really cool and even I actually only wish them well in my heart all the time."

He then explained why he blocked fans who made references to the group on social networking sites, "It is true that I received too much fierce glory and too much love when I was in my 20s, and I made too big a mistake in that, so as someone who left the group out of apology [to the fans I blocked], I don't have any personal feelings for them." Adding, "There are still fans who want a reunion, but for the first time I had the opportunity to be frank and talk like this. It was painful and heartbreaking for me as a person concerned because it is so impossible to see photos of fans who want a reunion, although they tag the members and me in their photos. I don't think there is anything more painful than being party to seeing photos of separated family members. It would have been thoughtless of me if I had misled them, but I think I did so because it was so painful and hard."
