It is a sequel to "Hitman," which was released during the 2020 COVID-19 virus pandemic.
It is not easy to produce sequels to a film series unless each film is a box office success, attracting more than 5 to 10 million viewers.
"The Hitman" only managed to attract 2.4 million viewers during its release due to the aftermath of the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
However, after its release on online video services (OTT), the film was refocused with positive reviews, and a sequel was released for the first time in five years.
Kwon Sang Woo said, "If the first film had been released at a better time, it would have performed better," and confessed, "I want to make up for my dissatisfaction with 'Hitman 2'."
