Park Kyung-mi, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, said in a commentary that afternoon, "President Yoon Seok-yeol, the mastermind behind the rebellion, is trying to use the Constitutional Court's impeachment hearing as a forum for inciting rebellion.
"President Yoon, who had filed various objections and not followed the trial, has now changed course and is attending the third round of impeachment arguments and will attend all future scheduled hearings," Park said.
"It is clear that he has an impure intention to rally his supporters. He appears to have been inspired by the fact that his supporters gathered at his appearance at Shinse Court in the western part of Seoul."
"The shadow of President Yoon, the mastermind of the rebellion, is looming behind the Seoul Western District Court riots. But are they planning to instigate rebellion again in the Constitutional Court?
"Are you trying to provide fuel for the rioters to threaten the courts? Please answer," he said. "You have committed an unconstitutional act of civil unrest, and are inciting riots again without any remorse," Park said.
Ahead of his impeachment trial, President Yoon insisted that he was a man who had lived his life with the belief in liberal democracy. Is civil war the perfect embodiment of liberal democracy?
"President Yoon tried to avoid responsibility by saying that Proclamation No. 1 was prepared by former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun.
He denied ever ordering the arrest of former ruling party leader and National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik, nor did he hand over the emergency legislative body memo.
"The public will be the ones to judge whether the fabricated facts are true and whether the contradictory statements made by President Yoon alone are true," he said.
"I imagine that every word President Yoon says today will come back as an echo to the rioters," Park said.
"President Yoon is not just a ringleader of a civil war, but if he does not intend to become the leader of the mob, he should stop inciting the rebellion," he said.
"The Constitutional Court has not wavered one step and condemned yesterday's crime,"
"I hope that this will not encourage tomorrow's crimes," he said.
