”NewJeans” announces public name contest for new group, ”We'll choose it!”

The five members of Korean girl group ‘NewJeans’ revealed that they will use different group names for a certain period of time.

On the 23rd January, ‘NewJeans’ announced on their independently-established SNS ‘jeanzforfree’ account, "Bunnies (fans of NewJeans)! We're going to publicly call for a new activity name to be used for a certain period of time for two days. Please participate a lot in the comments!"

They continued "If Bunnies tell us many good names, we will choose one!"

On the 28th November last year, ‘NewJeans’ held an emergency press conference regarding the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR and announced, "We are terminating our contract with ADOR at midnight on the 29th November. The fault lies with HYBE and ADOR, so there is no reason to sue and no reason for us to pay a penalty’, after which they walked away on their own.

In response, ADOR filed an action to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract and applied for a ‘provisional disposition to preserve the status of the planning company and prohibit the conclusion of an advertising contract’ to prevent ‘NewJeans’ from attempting to contact advertisers on their own before the court ruling was made. On the same day, the members appointed ‘Sejeong’, the same legal corporation as ADOR's former representative Min Hee Jin, and announced that they would ‘clarify the mistakes of ADOR and HYBE through legal proceedings and fight openly in court to inform the truth’, as well as declaring their legal response and that they would not return to HYBE.
