China's R&D expenditures in 2024 to increase 8.3% year-on-year...expected to exceed 3.6 trillion yen = China

According to provisional estimates by the National Bureau of Statistics of China, the total research and development (R&D) expenditure in China in 2024 will be 3.613 trillion former (about 77.6 trillion yen), up 8.3% from the previous year.
It is expected to exceed 3.6 trillion yuan. In addition, the R&D investment intensity (the ratio of R&D expenditure to GDP) is expected to reach 2.68%, 0.10 percentage points higher than the previous year.
Of this, basic research expenses will increase by 10.5% to 249.7 billion yen (approximately 5.4 trillion yen), and the proportion of total R&D expenses will increase by 0.14 percentage points to 6.91%.
