From the return of stars whose names are enough to make you sit up and take notice, a diverse line-up of romance, action and period dramas will be knocking at the door of your living room. Here is a look at this year's OTT line-up, which is worth looking forward to.

Netflix unveiled a new series, Trauma Code, based on a web novel and web comic and starring actors Joo Ji-hoon, Joo Young-woo and Ha-young on the 24th of this month. The film, which was released ahead of the festive season, is ranked No.1 in the Netflix Top 10 in South Korea and is enjoying plenty of special demand for the holidays. Its global popularity is also unusual: on the 29th (today), according to Flix Patrol, a website that compiles global OTT rankings, it ranked in the top three in the worldwide Netflix TV programmes category as of the 28th.
Movie in Love, co-starring actress Park Bo Young & actor Choi Woo Sik, which will be released on Valentine's Day (February 14th), is about ambiguous young people who want to fall in love and fulfil their dreams, and overcome their respective traumas by finding each other and becoming an inspiration, just like in the movie It is a love story. Following the same film, ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’ presents a romance with a hint of spring. Starring singer and actress IU and actor Park Bo Gum, the film follows the adventures of Ae-sun (played by IU), who was born in Jeju and is ‘undaunted by adversity’, and Gwang-shik (played by Park Bo Gum), who is ‘honest and steady’. (played by Park Bo Gum), a Netflix series that depicts the adventurous lives of these two men as the four seasons change.
In addition, Netflix has plenty of other all-time classics lined up for the year, including ‘Everything Will Come True’ with Suji (ex-Miss A) & actor Kim Woo-bin, ‘The Price of Confession’ with actresses Jung Do-young & Kim Go-eun, and the final season 3 of ‘Squid Game’.
<Disney+ with a flashy line-up
The first Disney+ original series to be brought to you is Trigger: Behind the News. Actress Kim Hye-su, actors Jung Sung-il and Joo Jung-hyuk are on board to capture viewers‘ attention with their unconventional coverage of investigative news programme producers, while Disney+’s first medical thriller Hyperknife, a genius surgeon of the dark side, opening on 19 March, is also highly anticipated. The series depicts the intense conflict and battle of wits between Seok (played by Park Eun-bin), a genius doctor with a promising future in the medical industry, and his mentor and advisor Deok-hee (played by Sol Kyung-gu), who ruined his life after a certain incident.
The series continues with ‘Knock Off’ with actor Kim Soo Hyun & actress Cho Bo Ah, ‘Nine Puzzle’ with actress Kim Dami & actor Song Seok, ‘Pineapple: The Raccoons’ with actor Ryu Seung Ryong & actresses Im Soo Jung & Yang Se Jung, and ‘The Fabricated City’ with actors Ji Chang Wook, D.O. (EXO) & Lee Kwang Soo. ‘Fabricated City’ with actors Ji Chang-wook & D.O. (EXO) & Lee Kwang-su. Disney+ is also planning to present its first period drama series in a Korean original production with ‘Turbulent Current’ starring Roeun & actress Shin Ye-eun.
And the most watched film is ‘Arctic Star’ starring actress Jung Ji-hyun and actor Kang Dong-won. The film tells the story of Moon-joo (played by Jung Ji-hyun), a diplomat and former ambassador to the US who has built an international reputation, and Sang-ho (played by Kang Dong-won), a special agent of unknown nationality, as they pursue the truth behind a huge case. The film also stars actresses Kim Hye-sook, Lee Mi-suk, actor Yoo Jae-myung, Park Hae-jung, Oh Jung-se, Lee Sang-hee, Joo Jung-hyuk, Won Ji-an, and Hollywood actor Jung Cho.
<TVING: The Joy of Choosing
TVING presented a comical high school action drama in its original series Study Group, which premiered on the 23rd June. The drama tells the story of Yoon Ga-min (played by Hwang Min-hyun), a high school student who wants to be good at studying but only has a talent for fighting, who jumps into a harsh examination war at a school full of the worst kind of problem children and forms a ‘study group’.
Next, ‘The Scandal of Chun Hwa ’ starring actress Go A Ra and actor Chang Ryul will be released on the 6th February. It is a romantic coming-of-age drama in which princess Hwari (played by A Ra), who failed in her first love, declares that she will directly choose her husband, and the best cheater in the capital city, Choi Hwan (played by Chang Ryul), and the number one groom candidate, Jang Won (played by Chani (SF9)) get involved in the story.
The coming-of-age fantasy romance ‘A Week Before I Die’ with actor Gong Myung & actress Kim Min Ha and the melodrama ‘Dear X’ with actress Kim Yoo Jung & actor Kim Young Dae are scheduled to be broadcast in the first half of the year.

Coupang Play will present its new original series ‘Newtopia’ on the 7th February. The show, co-starring JISOO of Korean girl group BLACKPINK and actor Park Jung-min, has attracted high expectations. The film tells the story of Jae Yoon (played by Park Jung Min), a soldier, and his girlfriend Young Joo (played by JISOO), who is waiting for him, as they run towards each other across the zombie-infested city centre of Seoul. Global stars and zombies meet. The show is expected to attract a great deal of attention from overseas viewers.
