It has been about a month and a half since it was temporarily suspended in December last year. The re-watch service for the episode of tvN's "Yoo Quiz" featuring the late Oh Yo-han was temporarily suspended on December 12 last year.
The reason given was simply "at the request of the content provider," but on December 10th, news broke that Oh Yohanna had passed away in September. The cause of death was unknown.
Meanwhile, on the 27th, it was reported that the late Oh Yohanna had taken her own life at around 1:05 a.m. on September 15th of last year, leaving a 17-page suicide note in her cell phone's notepad.
The video included claims that the deceased was bullied by two weather anchors during his time at work. MBC said, "The deceased was working as a freelancer, so we sent his complaint to the department in charge (management).
The deceased never reported this to the company (the Personnel Consultation Office of the Personnel Support Bureau or the Clean Center of the Audit Bureau) or to the managers with whom he worked.
"If the employee had even slightly discussed the damage with a responsible manager, even if it had not been reported, the company would naturally have conducted an appropriate investigation," the company said in its official statement.
"MBC takes a strict stance on workplace bullying, and reports and consultations have been received from not only freelancers but also cast members.
"If the family requests confirmation of the facts based on the newly discovered suicide note, MBC is ready to begin a fact-finding investigation immediately."
It was revealed that the family filed a lawsuit against the deceased's coworkers at the Seoul Central District Court on the 23rd of last month, seeking damages. The family also told MBC, "We are not requesting a factual statement.
I want them to investigate the matter thoroughly and broadcast a sincere apology on air."
