”The deceased would not have wanted this” - Popular YouTuber Oh Yohanna, who left a suicide note citing workplace bullying, faces backlash for ”explanation on her behalf” to senior newscaster
YouTuber illzuata (real name: Kim Ju-young) faced headwinds when she defended the late Oh Yoanna's senior weathercaster Kim Ha-young.

On 28th of last month, when allegations were raised that the late Oh Yoanna suffered from bullying in the workplace when she was a weathercaster for MBC, illzuata wrote on fellow weathercaster Kim Ga-young's SNS, "To the fact that (Kim) Ga-young sister was unable to protect Oh Yoanna, she suffered very much at the time as well", and had created a comment defending her.

ILZUATA continued, "I have a connection with Oh Yoanna, who I tried to campaign with once, and once we met, Oh Yoanna spoke to me wholeheartedly, saying that she loved and relied on her senior sister Ga-Young" and added, "Here, I make this comment, Oh Yoanna would never want me to make such a comment here. I may be nosy, but I am worried about Sister Ga Yeon, and although it is a short-lived relationship, I pray for the repose of Oh Yoanna's soul and leave my comments."

However, in the process of the recent proliferation of the allegations of assault by MBC's weathercasters, there has been a headwind that the third-party illzuata had spoken poorly, and MBC has also revealed that it will start a full-scale investigation into the truth, a situation in which the illzuata, who did not know the specifics of the back-and-forth situation, was at the time not aware of the deceased's The MBC has also revealed that it will launch a full-scale investigation into the truth of the matter.

In September last year, the sad news of the late Oh Yoanna's death at the age of 28 became known a step late. On the 27th January, a media outlet reported that the deceased's suicide note included a claim that she had been the victim of workplace bullying by two specific weathercasters, and that some MBC officials were also aware of this fact but turned their backs on it, causing a stir.

In this connection, the MBC side stated that it had never informed the deceased of the bullying at the company and clarified its position, saying, "If she had officially reported her distress, or if she had informed the responsible managers of the damage, even if it was not a report, the company would naturally have conducted a considerable investigation." They also stated that the company was ready to launch a fresh investigation at the bereaved family's request, saying, "We are also concerned about the stirring of the forces that are approaching this issue as a 'shake-up' of the MBC, as if they have seized some opportunity."

Nevertheless, the matter was not settled. The family of the late Oh Yoanna filed a lawsuit against the deceased's fellow employees for damages caused by workplace bullying. Online, the search for the perpetrators continued, and one anonymous netizen even proceeded to file charges with the Seoul Mapo Police Station and the Ministry of Employment and Labour against the MBC president and department heads, as well as two fellow weathercasters who were named as perpetrators.

On the 31st January, the MBC decided to form a truth investigation committee and additionally stated that it would "provide the committee with all the preliminary investigation materials that have been secured so far and provide maximum support so that the truth can be investigated smoothly and quickly."
