Total passenger numbers at China's Hainan Island's three major airports reached 5.54 million - Chinese media

According to Hainan Airport Group, which operates airports in Hainan Province, China, in January this year, the three major airports on Hainan Island, Haikou Meilan International Airport, Sanya Phoenix International Airport, and Boao International Airport, had a combined total of 10,000 flights.
The number of flights reached 35,300, carrying a total of 5.54 million passengers. Haikou Meilan International Airport recorded a total of 20,100 takeoffs and landings, carrying 2.894 million passengers, the highest number of flights in the country.
There were 12 days when the number of daily passengers exceeded 100,000. Sanya Phoenix International Airport had a cumulative total of 10,000 takeoffs and landings.
