Democratic lawmakers nominate Trump for Nobel Peace Prize in South Korea

On the 3rd, Park Seong-won, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, announced that on the 27th of last month, he had officially recommended US President Donald Trump as a candidate for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.

Nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize are made by members of parliament and government officials from around the world, prominent university professors, judges of international courts, and past Nobel Peace Laureates.
The deadline for nominations for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize was January 31. The Norwegian Nobel Committee will begin screening candidates from February of this year.
After that, detailed evaluations and advisory board deliberations will take place from April to August, and the five-member Nobel Committee will decide on the final laureate by majority vote in October.
