脱毛製品で起業した20代女性、日本や米国への輸出も視野=韓国
South Korean woman in her 20s starts hair removal business, considering export to Japan and the US
Kim Yuna, CEO of Rayearth Cosmetics, a manufacturer of cosmetics and other products, entered the hair removal market at the tender age of 29.
When asked why he started the company, CEO Kim said, "It was out of personal dissatisfaction."
Kim, who had no interest in hair care, started using a shampoo brush that was once popular, and as a result, he suffered from seborrheic dermatitis for a long time. At that time, he learned that it is important to choose products that suit the scalp and hair.
After that, the hair care brand "Nesh" was born. In December 2021, Nesh launched a hair loss management shampoo for women, and is a company that provides hair care products for scalp health, hair management, and styling.
The company expanded its product lineup to include hair care products such as hair straighteners. Until then, the main customers in the hair removal shampoo market were men, but Nesh targets young women.
"60% of customers who purchase shampoo and 80% of those who search for related keywords are women," the company said. The company is working to increase its brand awareness and sales in Korea while also exporting to the United States and Japan.
The company aims to expand globally by expanding its business. It is currently working on joint development of new products with Korea's Colmar, a cosmetics ODM (original design and manufacturing company).
The company plans to release a range of skin care products.
