Beijing sees 91,000 foreign tourists over Spring Festival, up 51.9% from last year - Chinese media

According to the Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, a total of 91,000 foreign tourists visited Beijing during the Lunar New Year holiday period (January 28 to February 4), up 51.9% from the same period last year.
The amount of tourism spending by inbound tourists increased by 52% to 930 million former (about 19.56 billion yen). In addition, according to the data, Beijing had a total of 17.589 million visitors during the same period.
Tourists were welcomed, and travel spending amounted to 28.67 billion former (approximately 602.98 billion yen). Wangfujing, the Tiananmen area, Qianmen Street, the Liangma River International Style Waterfront, and the Temple of Heaven Park were popular.
The Beijing government held Spring Festival events in each district, creating a traditional Spring Festival atmosphere for tourists to enjoy.
During the same period, a total of 1,655 performances were held at 110 venues in Beijing, with the number of spectators reaching 1,100,000.
A total of approximately 330,000 people attended, a 7% increase, and performance revenues increased 8% to over 53 million yen (approximately 1.11 billion yen).
