Hyundai, Honda and other investors invest in Eon to launch charging service in the U.S. - South Korean media

According to the Hyundai Motor Group, EonNA, a joint venture established by several automakers to build an electric vehicle (EV) charging network in North America, is developing a fast charging service.
In addition to Hyundai and Kia, Eon will also include BMW and Mercedes-Benz of Germany, General Motors (GM), Stellantis, Toyota, and Honda.
Eon said it has launched four EV charging stations and a research lab to study charging technology, one each in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

In addition, through collaboration with the US e-commerce giant Amazon, the company plans to set up unmanned convenience stores at some of its charging stations. This will be a computer vision system using artificial intelligence (AI).
