”Second Room N”... ”Pastor's Room” Sex Crime Ring Leader to Be Revealed (South Korea)

The head of the largest Telegram sex crime chat room in history, "Pastor's Room," applied for a provisional injunction to halt the execution of the disclosure of his identity, but the court did not accept the request.
According to the Korean legal community on the 7th, the Seoul Administrative Court granted a provisional suspension of the disclosure of the identity of the head of the organization, a suspect named Kim (33), against the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
The request for disciplinary action was rejected yesterday. This allows the police to publish Kim's name and mug shot (a photo of the suspect's face for identification purposes) on the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's website for 30 days.
If the identity is made public, Kim will be the first suspect this year to have his identity made public. Prior to this, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Cyber Investigation Unit had filed a criminal complaint against him on the 22nd of last month for rape under the Juvenile Sexual Protection Act.
The committee decided to release the name and face of the suspect, Kim, who is accused of nine counts of assault, in consideration of the brutality of the crime and the seriousness of the damage.
However, the release of his identity information was put on hold after Kim began legal action. Kim applied for a provisional injunction to suspend the release of his identity information on the 23rd of last month, the day after the decision was made.
The suspect, Kim, is said to have been involved in a pyramid-type cybercrime group called the Telegram "Vigilante Group" from May 2020 to January this year.
- He is suspected of sexually abusing 234 victims over a five-year period after setting up a sex crime ring. With the help of Telegram, police have arrested Kim, the head of the crime ring "Vigilante Group."
The 14 suspects and other members of the organization were arrested, and Kim was arrested and sent to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on the 24th of last month.
