China's electronic information manufacturing industry's added value to grow 11.8% year-on-year in 2024: Chinese report

According to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in 2024 (January-December), the added value of electronic information manufacturing industries of a certain scale or larger increased by 11.8% year-on-year. Also, in December, it increased by 8.
Looking at the production volume of major products in 2024, mobile phones are expected to increase by 7.8% to 1.67 billion units. Among them, smartphone production is expected to increase by 8.2%.
Microcomputer equipment increased 2.7% to 340 million, and integrated circuits increased 22.2% to 451.4 billion.
Exports from the electronic information manufacturing industry recovered steadily. Exports from electronic information manufacturing industries of a certain size or larger increased by 2.2% year-on-year in the January-November period.
This is a 0.9 percentage point increase from the growth rate. Profits in electronic information manufacturing industries of a certain size or larger were stable. Operating income increased 7.3% year-on-year to 16.19 trillion yen (about 337 trillion yen), and operating costs
Formers increased 7.5% year on year to 14.11 trillion yen (approximately 294 trillion yen), and total profits increased 3.4% year on year to 640.8 billion yen (approximately 13.3 trillion yen). The operating income margin was 4.0%, up from January to November.
This was an increase of 0.04 percentage points. Operating revenue for December alone was 1.74 trillion yen (approximately 36.2 trillion yen), up 8.4% from the same month last year.
