According to the police on the 9th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Public Crimes Investigation Unit arrested a test-taker who, due to a supervisor's mistake, photographed the test questions that were distributed in advance and tried to find the answers using ChatGPT.
One person was sent to the prosecution at the end of last month on suspicion of obstruction of business. After the exam, test-taker A posted on the online community "DC Inside" that he had used Chat GPT.
The answers on ChatGPT were incorrect, and Mr. A is believed to have failed. Police seized and searched "DC Inside," the website where the questions were allegedly leaked, and identified eight people who posted related information.
However, the other seven were found not guilty. The seven posted photos and other materials online that they had taken after the essay exam had finished, making it difficult to charge them with obstruction of business.
Last October, at the Yonsei University Natural Sciences Comprehensive Selection Essay Exam venue, an incident occurred in which exam questions were distributed about an hour before the start of the exam due to a supervisor's mistake, but were later collected.
Some students protested the leak and took the university to court, after which additional exams were held.
