「NewJeans」ハニ、香港カムバックの理由はビザ切れ?…「NJZ」のチーム名問題も浮上
‘NewJeans’ Hanni: Why Hong Kong comeback because of visa expiry? ...and the issue of the ‘NJZ’ team name.
There is a theory that Hanni, a member of the group NewJeans, which changed its name to NJZ, has refused to extend her own visa.

On the 11th, a media outlet reported that the domestic residence visa of Hanni, who has dual Australian and Vietnamese citizenship, expired earlier this month. The Arts and Entertainment (E-6) visa, which is required for domestic economic activities, requires overseas nationals to have an employment contract with their domestic agency.

According to this, the ADOR side prepared all the documents for Hanni's visa extension and tried to apply for the extension, but Hanni refused to sign. However, the ADOR side refrained from saying that this has not been confirmed.

The five members of NewJeans, including Hanni, have left their existing agency ADOR to pursue their own paths and even recently announced a new group name, NJZ. In this context, the fact that the girls first announced their comeback on the Hong Kong stage has been interpreted by some as being due to the fact that it has become difficult to perform complete entertainment activities in the country due to the expiry of their visas.

ADOR has filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of their exclusive contract. Before this lawsuit was declared, ‘NewJeans’ applied for a ‘provisional disposition for the preservation of the status of the planning company and prohibition of concluding an advertising contract’ to prevent them from trying to contact advertisers on their own, and are preparing for a legal battle in March. The members also entrusted legal representation to Sejong, the same law firm as former ADOR head Min Hee Jin, and embarked on countermeasures.

Shortly after recently announcing the group's name change, they also announced during a live broadcast that they will soon have an agent, so there is no need to worry too much. The girls will make their comeback through ‘Complex Live’, a concert series at the ComplexCon Hong Kong festival.
