Abu Dhabi's Sovereign Wealth Fund buys BlackRock's Bitcoin spot ETF for $436 million

Mubadala Investment Company, the Abu Dhabi government's sovereign wealth fund, launched a Bitcoin spot exchange-traded index fund in the fourth quarter of last year.
In a report released on the 14th (local time), Mubadala Investment Company announced that it had invested in BlackRock's Bitcoin spot ETF shares in the fourth quarter of last year.
The report was included in a quarterly report that was filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) disclosing U.S. stock holdings.
The company also disclosed that it had purchased 8.2 million shares of BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF, marking Mubadala's first time with the offering.
The company is believed to have started investing in the product. BlackRock's holdings in the Bitcoin spot ETF were not confirmed in the last quarter's report.
