故キム・セロンさんの死に「ユ・クイズ」出演教授が社会批判
Professor who appeared on ”Yoo Quiz” criticizes society following the death of the late Kim Sae Ron... ”Our society is a 'squid game'”
Professor Na Jong-ho of the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University in the US, who appeared on tvN's variety programme ‘Yoo Quiz ON THE BLOCK’, criticised the sad news of the late actress Kim Theron's death, saying that "our society is like a giant 'squid game'."

On the 17th (today), Professor Na wrote on his SNS, "Drunk driving is a very big mistake. If the punishment is weak, then there is a problem with the legal system."

He expressed his feelings saying, "But a society that buries people from society for committing a mistake without a chance to recover is not a healthy society," and expressed his regret "The way our society discards people who make mistakes or fail and overlooks them as if nothing has happened is like a giant 'squid game'."

Professor Na revealed his reasons for speaking out, saying, "I don't often make references to individuals, because one's death is the result of a combination of social, psychological and economic factors", but he added, "However, I feel very strongly that Kim Sae-ron's death this time was a death that pushed her to the edge of a cliff, and there is nothing we can do about it."

He added "The last time I saw news about her was in an article about her working part-time due to livelihood difficulties. I recall seeing not only the article but even the café where she worked, where she suffered from all kinds of malicious posts", and added "How many more lives do we have to lose before we stop inflicting destructive shaming without a moment to catch our breath? This is a perspective that requires social dialogue and concern", he stressed.

The late Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on 16th of last year. She was 24 years old. The first finder was known to be a friend who had promised to meet him that day.

The deceased made her debut as a magazine model in 2001 and gained much popularity as a child prodigy in the film Ajosi. However, in May 2022, she was sentenced to a fine of 20 million won after she drove drunk and caused an accident in which she pushed through a guardrail, a row of trees and a transformer, and experienced a difficult road back to show business in the aftermath of the fiasco. He was recently cast in the film Guitar Man, which was about to be released.
