The second revenge drama by Lee Myung-hee, the writer of the TV series "Buried Heart," is coming. SBS's new Fri-Sat TV series "Buried Heart," which will begin airing on the 21st, is written by Park Hyung-sik (played by Seo Dong-ji).
The film stars two main characters, Kim Yoo-young (playing Kim Jong-un) and Heo Junho (playing Yeom Jang-seon), and depicts the tangled desires of the people caught between them and the huge treasure island that is the Taesan Group, in a frank and raging storm-like manner.
"Buried Heart" was written by Lee Myung-hee, the writer who created a money and desire syndrome in 2017 with "Money Flower: The Man Who Closed His Love (hereafter "Money Flower").
"Buried Heart" is attracting a lot of attention as it is the return of writer Lee Myung-hee to her favorite genres of money, desire, and revenge.
We asked writer Lee Myung-hee, who brought the story to life, what she wanted to convey with this work. First, writer Lee Myung-hee said about "Buried Heart," "The world of conglomerates and politics is bound together by the concrete of money.
The protagonist, who became a servant of the master, fell into the delusion that he was worthy of being by his master's side, and his life was taken by him.
Realizing the reality, they plan their revenge to destroy the world of wealth and power that they are trying to confront. The protagonist, who has made the seemingly impossible revenge possible, regrets the life he survived even after being shot.
"In the "Buried Heart," there are people who are caught up in their own desires for money, power, love, revenge, etc., but instead of running away, they face the truth head on and complete their revenge."
A variety of characters appear. They rush towards their desires, even if it means ruining themselves. Writer Lee Myung-hee returns to the screen after her previous work, "The Money Flower," with another story about "human desires and revenge."
What was the reason for choosing the theme of "revenge"? When asked what prompted her to write "Buried Heart," writer Lee Myung-hee said, "The motivation is always the same, and there is only one. I wanted to write an interesting TV series."
"I'm the type of person who enjoys revenge stories, so I planned to do a 'revenge trilogy' and this is my second revenge story," said writer Lee Myung-hee.
I want to show the process of conflict, struggle, and resolution of desires. Of all the various desires, I am interested in the desire for money and material things. In the modern capitalist era, material desires are as primitive as food, sex, and sleep.
"It's an interesting theme with a lot of conflict, confrontation, and resolution that becomes amplified by the desire for money and power," he said. We've already seen how interesting it is that writer Lee Myung-hee has written a story about money, power, and revenge.
"Buried Heart" is a film that combines the fascinating storytelling of writer Lee Myung-hee with the sensual and immersive directing of director Jin Chang-gyu and the dramatic performances of Park Hyo-young.
With the addition of the acting skills of actors such as Ng Sik and Heo Junho, "Buried Heart" is sure to capture the eyes, ears and hearts of viewers.
"Buried Heart" will be released on the 21st and will air every Friday at 10pm and every Saturday at 10pm.
