Asset management firm Franklin Templeton will tokenize a US Treasury fund in Europe. Franklin Templeton is reportedly planning to tokenize a US Treasury fund in Luxembourg.
After receiving approval from the Luxembourg regulatory authorities in October this year, the company will operate a tokenized fund targeting institutional investors in eight European countries, including France and Italy.
Michel Clivery, chief operating officer of virtual asset issuer Nexbridge, said, "U.S. Treasury bonds, gold, raw materials, etc. are likely to be tokenized."
"These assets are highly stable and offer clear rates of return," he said. "Investments that are difficult to invest in directly in the U.S. dollar or require a hedge against inflation are not suitable for this purpose.
Investors are showing interest in investing in related (tokenized assets).”
