Uber Taxi to launch large vehicle service for business and airport transfers in South Korea
UT, a joint venture between T-Map Mobility, a subsidiary of the major telecommunications company SK Telecom (SKT), and U.S. ride-sharing giant Uber Technologies, is a ride-hailing service operated in South Korea called Uber.
The company announced that it will launch a B2B (business-to-business) service called "Uber for Business" (U4B) for its Uber Taxi service.
U4B provides services optimized for business travel and other business trips, as well as a simple expense processing system.
Because it utilizes the Uber network, companies that operate globally or have expanded overseas can also use it.
In addition, UT is preparing to launch a large taxi service called "Premier Van."
The company also revealed that it expects that one in 10 foreigners arriving at Incheon International Airport will use Uber taxis. This will strengthen its competitiveness in the ride-hailing market.
The company hopes to spread awareness that South Korea is a safe tourist destination and to stimulate tourism. According to the company, the number of Uber taxis used has increased by more than 50% compared to the previous year, and the number of affiliated drivers has more than doubled.
In particular, the matching rate of drivers to vehicle requests has improved significantly.
