国産オミジャが素材の蒸留酒「コウンダル」、17年の研究が結実=韓国
”Goeundal,” a distilled liquor made from domestically produced omija, is the fruit of 17 years of research (Korea)
Ominara, a liquor manufacturer, has recently started selling "Goundal," a distilled liquor made with domestic ingredients. The juice of omija (Chinese quince) harvested in September is fermented for six months.
After being aged for a year, the wine is made, and then distilled twice to produce the original liquid. This original liquid is aged for three years in white porcelain jars or oak barrels, and then blended to produce the product.
The Koundal aged in white porcelain jars has a white chocolate and herb aroma, a soft taste and a smooth texture. On the other hand, the one aged in oak barrels has a cedar and chocolate aroma.
The aroma and bitter aftertaste are pleasant to the senses. Goeundal and Omija Wine are currently available for purchase at the duty-free shops at Incheon International Airport.
Ominara is a company that was established by OB Beer, a beer brewery, and Di, a whiskey brewery.
The company was founded in 2008 by Lee Jung-gi, who was the vice president of Agio Korea. Lee conducted tests to brew alcohol using domestic fruits and grains. The ingredients he came up with were Omi.
In order to find out how to make Goeundal, CEO Lee visited the Champagne region of France more than nine times and learned about the fermentation method. The result of his research over a total of 17 years was Goeundal.
He says.
