Four security cameras installed at President Yoon's father's gravesite at public expense... Police mobilized
At the grave of the late Professor Yoon Ki-joon, the father of President Yoon Seok-yeol, CCTV cameras were installed using the budget of the Presidential Security Service, and even the police were mobilized to monitor the area.
According to a report by CBS No Cut News on the 25th, the National Guard will install four CCTV cameras and a security camera at the memorial park in Gyeonggi-do, where the late Professor Yoon passed away, in August 2023.
This memorial park is managed by a private company, and CCTV and speakers are installed at various points around the entrance and exit.
However, there is another CCTV set up next to Professor Yoon's grave, monitoring all four sides.
Unlike the CCTV, a warning speaker is also installed here. The budget for installing this CCTV and speaker was about 15 million won (about 1.57 million yen).
The monitoring was reportedly being carried out by the General Situation Room and the First Security Division of the National Guard. The police were also mobilized. The police station and the police box in charge of the memorial park are also involved in monitoring and other aspects of the cemetery management.
It has been confirmed that the National Guard has been mobilized. It has been pointed out that the National Guard has unnecessarily used tax money to install CCTV cameras near Professor Yoon's grave and has even mobilized government personnel for continuous maintenance.
Yoon Gun, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, said, "It is common sense that the National Guard's budget was used to guard the grave of the president's direct lineal ascendants," and "We need to clarify who gave the orders and under what circumstances."
However, the Security Service said, "The graveyard of the incumbent president's ancestors is subject to security management measures in accordance with the law to eliminate vulnerabilities in security."
"The same procedure was followed under previous governments," he said. Meanwhile, in 2021, when President Yoon was a leading presidential candidate, a portion of his grandfather's burial mound in a park cemetery in Sejong City was excavated.
It has been claimed that traces of damage have been found in the graveyard. Relatives of President Yoon said, "There were knives, female hair, human feces, food waste, and talismans in the graveyard."
A source close to President Yoon said, "There were some signs of damage in some parts of the tomb, and (relatives) took photos of the scene, but they are so disgusting and nauseating that they cannot be made public."
The police said they had investigated the scene twice but found no evidence to support these allegations.
"We regularly request repairs and maintenance, but (the Yoon family) has never done anything like that."
