President Yoon promises constitutional reform in final statement, not concerned about term limit = South Korea

South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol promised to "revise the constitution" in his final statement in the impeachment trial. If the impeachment is dismissed and he returns to work, he will "revise the constitution" through constitutional amendments and the electoral system.
President Yoon stated his intention to promote "political reform" during the 11th hearing of the impeachment trial held at the Constitutional Court on the 25th.
"I will focus the second half of my term on promoting legal and political reforms," he said, adding, "From the beginning of my presidency, I had a plan to promote political reforms, such as amending the constitution and the electoral system, from the middle of my term onwards."
President Yoon also proposed a "decentralized presidential system" in which the president would be in charge of foreign affairs and security, and the prime minister would be in charge of domestic affairs. "In light of the rapidly changing international situation and the multiple global crises,
"The president will focus on foreign relations, and I intend to transfer a large amount of authority over domestic issues to the prime minister," he said. He also touched on South Korea's economic structure, saying, "Our economy is highly dependent on foreign countries.

He continued, "Crisis can be transformed into opportunity depending on the national policy we choose.
"We will do our utmost to protect our national interests through foreign relations, drawing on our experience in building the strongest ROK-U.S. alliance in history and leading ROK-U.S.-Japan cooperation," he said.
